Washington Heights is a gem of a neighborhood in Manhattan. The subway is one block from the apartment, and the A train gets you to 42nd St Times Square, the tourist center of Manhattan, in 20-30 minutes. You can also rent Citi Bikes across the street from the apartment and take a scenic route by the Hudson River to the bottom of Manhattan. The neighborhood is a true residential community. Just down the block, we have a bookstore, an ice cream shop, 2 supermarkets, a bakery, and many restaurants: Japanese, Indian (with live Jazz), Ethiopian, Mexican, French Creperie, Spanish Tapas, Chinese, Italian Pizzeria, American, Irish, and ***.******.*** are Pilates and yoga studios, affordable gyms (Blink, NY sports club), a public pool, and NY Presbyterian Hospital. (One of the best hospitals in New York) There is a historic Reform Jewish synagogue and a Collegiate Reformed Protestant Dutch church, which is LGBT+ friendly.
